This essay will argue that while there is some evidence to suggest that video games may have a minor impact on youth aggression, they are not a significant contributing factor to violent behavior.

Firstly, it is important to acknowledge that some studies have found a correlation between exposure to violent video games and increased aggression in youth. For example, research has shown that players may exhibit heightened levels of anger and hostility after playing violent games. This could be due to the immersive nature of these games, which often reward players for aggressive actions. However, correlation does not imply causation, and it is crucial to consider other variables that may influence youth behavior.

On the other hand, there is a substantial body of evidence suggesting that video games do not cause violent behavior.
