Thể điều kiện (Conditional) trong tiếng Anh được sử dụng để diễn đạt về các điều kiện và hậu quả có thể xảy ra trong tương lai, hiện tại hoặc quá khứ (trong trường hợp của điều kiện không có thực). Dưới đây là các loại cấu trúc và cách sử dụng thể điều kiện trong tiếng Anh:

Thể điều kiện loại 1 (First Conditional):

• Sử dụng để nói về điều kiện có thể xảy ra ở hiện tại hoặc trong tương lai, và hậu quả có thể xảy ra sau đó.
• Cấu trúc: If + present simple, will + base form. Ví dụ: If it rains, I will stay at home. (Nếu mưa, tôi sẽ ở nhà.)

Ví dụ:

• If it rains tomorrow, we will cancel our picnic.
• If she studies hard, she will pass the exam.
• If you leave now, you will catch the train.
• If I have time tonight, I will call you.
• If they don’t hurry, they will miss the bus.
• If you water the plants regularly, they will grow well.

Thể điều kiện loại 2 (Second Conditional):

• Sử dụng để nói về điều kiện không có thực ở hiện tại hoặc tương lai, và hậu quả không có thực.
• Cấu trúc: If + past simple, would + base form. Ví dụ: If I won the lottery, I would buy a new house. (Nếu tôi trúng số, tôi sẽ mua một căn nhà mới.)

Ví dụ:

• If I were a bird, I would fly around the world.
• If I had a million dollars, I would travel to every continent.

Thể điều kiện loại 3 (Third Conditional):

• Sử dụng để nói về điều kiện không có thực ở quá khứ, và hậu quả không có thực.
• Cấu trúc: If + past perfect, would have + past participle. Ví dụ: If I had studied harder, I would have passed the exam. (Nếu tôi học chăm chỉ hơn, tôi đã qua môn.)

Ví dụ:

1. If I had studied harder, I would have gotten a better grade on the exam.
2. If she had left the house earlier, she wouldn’t have missed the bus.
3. If they had listened to the weather forecast, they wouldn’t have gone on a picnic in the rain.
4. If he had saved his money, he could have bought a car by now.

Thể điều kiện loại 0 (Zero Conditional):

• Sử dụng để nói về các sự kiện xảy ra luôn luôn hoặc thường xuyên khi một điều kiện xảy ra.
• Cấu trúc: If + present simple, present simple. Ví dụ: If you heat ice, it melts. (Nếu bạn làm nóng đá, nó tan chảy.)

Ví dụ:

1. If you mix blue and yellow, you get green.
2. If water reaches 100 degrees Celsius, it boils.
3. If I feel hungry, I eat something.
4. If the sun sets, it gets dark outside.
5. If you heat ice, it melts.
6. If you drop a ball, it falls to the ground.
7. If you don’t water plants, they die.
8. If I press this button, the light turns on.
9. If you don’t study, you fail the exam.
10. If you drive too fast, you risk having an accident.

Mixed Conditionals:

• Sử dụng để kết hợp các loại điều kiện trong một câu.
• Ví dụ: If I had known you were coming, I would have baked a cake. (Nếu tôi biết bạn đến, tôi đã nướng bánh.)

Ví dụ:

1. If I hadn’t missed the train, I wouldn’t be late for the meeting now. (Nếu tôi không lỡ chuyến tàu, bây giờ tôi không muộn cho cuộc họp.)
2. If she spoke Spanish fluently, she would have got the job in Madrid. (Nếu cô ấy nói tiếng Tây Ban Nha lưu loát, cô ấy đã được việc ở Madrid.)
