Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn (Present Continuous Tense) trong tiếng Anh được sử dụng để mô tả các hành động đang diễn ra tại thời điểm nói hoặc xung quanh thời điểm nói.

Sử dụng thì hiện tại tiếp diễn

1. Mô tả hành động đang diễn ra ngay lúc nói:
   • Ví dụ: “She is reading a book now.” (Cô ấy đang đọc sách ngay bây giờ.)
2. Mô tả hành động đang diễn ra xung quanh thời điểm nói nhưng không nhất thiết phải diễn ra đúng lúc nói:
   • Ví dụ: “I am working on a new project these days.” (Dạo này tôi đang làm việc trên một dự án mới.)
3. Mô tả kế hoạch hoặc dự định trong tương lai gần:
   • Ví dụ: “We are meeting our friends tomorrow.” (Chúng tôi sẽ gặp bạn bè vào ngày mai.)
4. Mô tả một hành động hoặc sự kiện tạm thời:
   • Ví dụ: “He is living with his parents until he finds a new apartment.” (Anh ấy đang sống với bố mẹ cho đến khi tìm được căn hộ mới.)
5. Mô tả các hành động lặp lại gây khó chịu hoặc phiền toái (thường đi kèm với ‘always’, ‘constantly’, ‘forever’):

6. Mô tả sự thay đổi hoặc phát triển:

Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn có cấu trúc cơ bản là:

• Khẳng định: S + am/is/are + V-ing
  • Ví dụ: “I am eating.”
• Phủ định: S + am/is/are + not + V-ing
  • Ví dụ: “She is not studying.”
• Câu hỏi: Am/Is/Are + S + V-ing?
  • Ví dụ: “Are you coming?”
