Bài Speaking ví dụ
One challenging experience I had was when I participated in a public speaking competition during my final year of university. This event took place at the university auditorium in the spring of 2022.
The competition required each participant to deliver a 10-minute speech on a topic of their choice in front of a large audience and a panel of judges. I chose to speak about the importance of mental health awareness among students. Although I was passionate about the topic, I found the experience extremely daunting because I had never spoken in front of such a large group before.
To prepare for the competition, I spent several weeks researching my topic, organizing my thoughts, and rehearsing my speech. I rehearsed in front of friends and family, who provided valuable feedback. Despite my preparations, I was very nervous on the day of the competition. My hands were shaking, and I could feel my heart racing as I walked up to the stage.
Once I began speaking, I focused on taking deep breaths and maintaining eye contact with the audience. This helped me to calm down a bit and deliver my speech more confidently. I also reminded myself of the importance of the message I was conveying, which motivated me to push through my anxiety.
The most challenging part was maintaining my composure throughout the speech, especially when I noticed a few judges taking notes or when I stumbled over a word. However, I managed to finish my speech without any major issues and received a round of applause from the audience.
This experience was challenging because it pushed me out of my comfort zone and forced me to confront my fear of public speaking. However, it also taught me valuable lessons about preparation, perseverance, and the importance of believing in myself. Looking back, I am grateful for the experience as it helped me grow both personally and professionally.
