Passenger: Hi, I’d like to book a flight, please.
Agent: Certainly. Can I have your full name?
Passenger: Yes, it’s Olivia Sanders.

Agent: Where will you be flying from?
Passenger: From Manchester to Barcelona.
Agent: And what date would you like to depart?
Passenger: On the 22nd of September.
Agent: Will this be a return trip?
Passenger: Yes, I’ll return on the 29th.

Agent: How many passengers in total?
Passenger: Just one – myself.
Agent: Do you have a seat preference?
Passenger: I prefer a window seat, if available.

Agent: And any meal requirements?
Passenger: Yes, I’d like a vegetarian meal.

SECTION 2 – Sports Club Orientation

Speaker: Welcome to Westhill Sports Club. If you’re a new member, the first thing you should do is attend a safety session, not the fitness test or meeting a trainer.

Our gym is busiest on Fridays, especially in the evening. Try visiting on weekday mornings if you prefer it quiet.

The swimming pool is open daily, but during school holidays, pool hours are reduced to accommodate children’s sessions.

If you’d like to join a class, make sure to book in advance to secure your spot.

Now, let’s go over where our most popular activities take place:
Yoga is held in Studio 1, a calm and quiet room.
Spinning takes place in Studio 2, where we have bikes and loud music.
Martial arts classes are in Room B, close to the back entrance.
Zumba happens in the Gym Hall, our largest space.
Swimming lessons are held poolside, on the shallow end.
Dance classes are in Room A, near the front desk.


SECTION 3 – Students Discussing a Field Trip

Anna: Hi Tom! Are you ready for the field trip next week?
Tom: Yes! I’m excited. We’re going to that coastal village, right?
Anna: Yep – and we’ll be studying local wildlife there.

Tom: What time are we leaving?
Anna: The teacher said we’ll depart at 8 a.m., not too early.

Tom: Good. And what do we need to bring?
Anna: Just a notebook to record findings – no cameras allowed.

Tom: Ah, right. I remember the teacher mentioning something about phone use.
Anna: Yeah, she said no mobile phones during the trip, except for emergencies.

Tom: How are we getting there?
Anna: We’ll travel by coach – it’s more comfortable than the school bus.

Tom: Do you know how long it takes?
Anna: Around three hours, with one short stop at a service station.

Tom: And how will we work?
Anna: We’ll be split into small groups of four. Each group collects data.

SECTION 4 – Lecture on Sleep and Health

Lecturer: Today’s lecture is about sleep and how it affects our health.

Most adults need around 7 to 9 hours of sleep each night.
Lack of sleep can affect your memory and ability to focus.
During sleep, the body also works to repair muscles and tissues.

Chronic sleep deprivation may lead to increased risk of heart disease.
Our sleep cycle is controlled by the hormone melatonin.

Too much exposure to light, especially from screens, can lower melatonin levels.
That’s why experts advise no screens for at least 30 minutes before bed.

Taking a nap during the day – about 20 minutes – can improve alertness.

While exercise is beneficial for sleep, try not to work out right before bed.
And finally, a quiet, dark bedroom with a comfortable bed helps ensure restful sleep.
