1. Yes, I really do. There's an energy in a live performance that you just don't get from a recording, partly because you know that anything could go wrong. Even a small mistake makes it feel more real somehow.
2. Not as often as I'd like, maybe two or three times a year. Tickets for the big theatres are quite expensive, so I tend to go to smaller venues, or to performances that friends are involved in.
3. Only a few times, mostly at school. I played a very minor role in an end-of-year play when I was about fourteen. I had about three lines, and I was so nervous that I forgot one of them, but the audience didn't seem to notice.
4. It depends on my mood. If I'm tired, a film is easier, because I can just sit back and relax. But a play feels more like an event, and I find I concentrate much harder, so I usually remember it for longer.
5. More than there used to be. Apart from the city theatre, there are a couple of cafés that host small shows at the weekend, and the cultural centre near my home puts on performances by local groups every month.
Tiêu chí band 7.0–7.5: Fluency – trả lời liền mạch, mở rộng bằng lý do + ví dụ, ít ngập ngừng; Lexical – dùng từ theo chủ đề và vài collocation tự nhiên; Grammar – trộn câu phức, mệnh đề quan hệ, câu điều kiện, thì hoàn thành; Pronunciation – nhấn trọng âm câu, nối âm. Từ vựng chủ đề biểu diễn: amateur drama group, the cast, rehearse, a creative outlet, light-hearted, subsidise tickets, live event. Part 2: phần 'why you enjoyed it' nên có một chi tiết đáng nhớ (khoảnh khắc bất ngờ) và cảm nhận sau buổi diễn. Part 3: dùng cấu trúc nhượng bộ (as long as…, to some extent…, if anything…) để trả lời cân bằng.

I'm going to talk about a comedy play I saw last spring, put on by an amateur drama group in my neighbourhood. It was a light-hearted story about a family trying to organise a wedding while everything goes wrong, a lost ring, a missing cake, that sort of thing.
It was performed in the hall of the local cultural centre, which isn't a proper theatre at all. There were just rows of plastic chairs and a small stage with a couple of spotlights. I went with my parents on a Saturday evening, mainly because one of my neighbours was in the cast and she'd been talking about it for weeks.
The performers were a real mixture. There was a retired teacher who played the grandfather, a couple of university students, a shop owner from down the street and even a twelve-year-old boy who played the ring bearer. None of them were professionals, and you could tell that some of them were nervous at the start.
What I enjoyed most was the atmosphere. Because almost everyone in the audience knew someone on stage, people were cheering and laughing much more than they would in a normal theatre. When one actor forgot his line, he just made something up, and it got the biggest laugh of the night. It also made me realise how much work goes into something like that. My neighbour told me they'd rehearsed twice a week for three months, after work. So I left feeling not just entertained, but quite inspired, and I've actually been thinking about joining the group myself.

Questions 3–2
Speaking Part 3 — Thảo luận
Give extended answers with reasons and examples (about 40–60 seconds each).
- Why do you think people take part in amateur drama or music groups?
- Should children be encouraged to perform in front of others? Why?
- Do you think live theatre will survive the popularity of online streaming?
- What benefits can arts groups bring to a local community?
- Should the government make tickets for performances cheaper?

1. I think the main reason is the social side. Joining a drama group or a choir is a way of meeting people with a shared interest, which can be hard as an adult. For others, it's about having a creative outlet that's completely different from their job, a few hours a week when they can be someone else.
2. Yes, as long as it's done sensitively. Performing builds confidence and teaches children to cope with nerves, which is useful later in life, for instance in job interviews. But I don't think shy children should be forced onto a stage; it's better to start with small roles or group performances so they don't feel exposed.
3. I'm fairly optimistic. Streaming is incredibly convenient, but it's a different experience. Theatre offers something you can't download: being in the same room as the performers, sharing the reaction of an audience. If anything, I think people who spend all day looking at screens might value that kind of live event even more.
4. Quite a lot, actually. They bring together people of different ages and backgrounds who wouldn't normally mix, and they give a neighbourhood a sense of identity. Performances can also raise money for local causes, and they give young people something constructive to do in the evenings.
5. To some extent. I think it would be worth subsidising tickets for students and people on low incomes, because otherwise the arts can become something only wealthier people enjoy. But I wouldn't make every ticket cheaper, since that money might be better spent supporting the groups themselves, for example by providing rehearsal spaces.
