Presenter: Hello and welcome to Weekend Talk. My guest today is Ben. Last month he went on a cycling holiday. Hi, Ben.
Ben: Hi. Thanks for having me.
Presenter: So, where did you go?
Ben: I cycled along the coast from my home town to a small village called Elmsford. That's E-L-M-S-F-O-R-D.
Presenter: How long did the trip take?
Ben: Six days. I cycled about fifty kilometres a day.
Presenter: Did you go alone?
Ben: No. My cousin came with me. My best friend wanted to come too, but he broke his leg in May.
Presenter: Oh no! Where did you sleep?
Ben: We had a tent, so we usually slept in campsites. One night it was very windy, so we stayed in a small hotel.
Presenter: What was the best part of the trip?
Ben: The food was great, but the best part was the people. Farmers gave us fresh fruit, and one family invited us to dinner.
Presenter: And the worst part?
Ben: On the third day, my bike had a flat tyre in the rain. I fixed it, but I was cold and wet.
Presenter: What did you take with you?
Ben: Not much. Some clothes, a map and a small camera. I didn't take my laptop.
Presenter: Would you do it again?
Ben: Yes! Next summer, I want to cycle in the mountains. It's harder, but I love a challenge.
Presenter: Thanks, Ben. Good luck!
